The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) Student Challenge 2010

Make your CV stand out from the crowd
Take on the Chartered Accountants Student Challenge to apply what you've learnt at university to a real-life business problem and get your career off to a flying start.
Entering this online accounting competition will give you a taste of the varied and interesting issues you will likely encounter in business.

This year we would like you to examine a real-life business challenge facing The Smith Family. Entries will be judged on how effectively students solve the Challenge on three main criteria - technical knowledge, innovation and presentation.

In 2010, there are two different Challenges - one designed for first year undergraduate students, and the other for second, third and fourth year students. Each Challenge has its unique rewards.

You can tackle the task solo or with a partner. Either way simply participating adds practical experience to your CV - and it's all up from there.
Winners will enjoy money-can't-buy Power Lunches with highly sought-after employers, travel vouchers and may even jet off on an all expenses paid trip to London.

Please note, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to enter this competition

UBS Investment Banking Challenge 2010-University of Sydney

Do you want to meet leading investment bankers from the No. 1 House in Australia?
Do you have what it takes to work on a real M&A transaction?

The 2010 UBS Investment Banking Challenge will be run at seven leading campuses for the study of finance in Australia; The Universities of Adelaide, Melbourne, Monash, New South Wales, Queensland, Sydney and Western Australia.
The Challenge offers students an invaluable opportunity:

To gain hands-on experience of working as an analyst in an Investment Bank
To win an internship interview with UBS, the market leader in investment banking in the Australian market
To win a generous cash prize!

Participating teams are provided with a case study, developed by UBS bankers and based on a real M&A transaction. Later that week, they will be invited to present to a panel of judges for 15-minutes and answer questions typical of those posed to a junior analyst at UBS.

Four teams will be selected at each campus to participate in the Campus Final, and the winning team at each campus will compete in the National Final, to be held at our offices in Sydney. As well as presenting, finalists will be invited to spend a morning with UBS to learn more about careers in Investment Banking (and also ask for some advice ahead of the competition!).
All National Finalists will be invited to interview for a Summer Internship at UBS.
The following cash prizes are applicable for the National Final winners:
